Collaboration in Artificial Intelligence

Traditional automotive questions are being redefined in the context of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Expertise in AI and its safe, responsible use in modern vehicles will determine future leadership in mobility markets.

The pre-competitive research projects with an AI focus, developed by the VDA Leitinitiative for autonomous and connected driving, are part of the KI Familie. These related projects complement each other in content, are interconnected, and transfer knowledge and insights.

Focusing on data and safety, the projects address technological challenges and target the particularly crucial research and development areas for competitiveness in the use of AI for autonomous and connected driving. This creates comprehensive AI expertise across the entire spectrum of automotive applications.

Funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, more than 80 partners from academia and industry are involved in the projects.
